Space Cowboys Host Yuri's Night at Nightlife!

Join the Space Cowboys and the Unimog on April 12th from 6:00-10:00 PM at the California Academy of Sciences to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the first cosmonaut in space (and one of our favorite Russians), Yuri Gagarin!

We are so happy to return to the Academy to visit the penguins, dance with the fishes, rock the turtles, and geek out in the planetarium.

Telescopes, tours, snakes and dinosaurs!

We highly recommend the VIP package for behind the scenes tours and bar service.

NIGHTLIFE is the #1 museum afterhours event in the US. This will be our 3rd Yuri’s Night at the Academy and we are thrilled to bring out the Unimog for this very special night.

First thanks to everyone who made it out to Squaw and the Lakeside. What a weekend, I’m finally recovering now. Second, thanks to everyone who saw the humor in that recent Craigslist post. It was a prank, and a darn funny one at that. We’re not selling our Burning Man tickets or renting out our camp on the playa, though we are available the other 51 weeks of the year! Dust off those moon boots, Friends, because The Space Cowboys are back in North Lake Tahoe the first weekend of March for our funkiest frozen fiesta of the year, SnowFest!

Friday, March 2nd
11:00 AM-9:00 PM
Come hang out with us and the UNIMOG at Squaw Valley USA on the KT Base Bar deck all afternoon as Space Cowboy DJs and friends drop the funk and shake the gondola. The fun continues on into the evening with the SnowFest Opening Ceremonies at Olympic Plaza with fireworks, lasers, the torch ski parade, and the crowning of Miss North Lake Tahoe.

9:00 PM-2:00AM
The festivities continue with the Space Cowboy DJs at the official after-party right there at Squaw’s Plaza Bar.

Saturday, March 3rd
10:45 AM-6:00 PM
Hit the deck! (again), with the Space Cowboys and our trusty UNIMOG at the KT Base Bar at Squaw Valley all day.

9:00 PM-2:00 AM
Apres Ski Alert! – Once the lifts shut down, we jump up for our legendary apres ski party in Tahoe City at The Lakeside – North Lake Tahoe’s best party venue. We’re also up to no good with special new plans for a second outdoor sound system with heat lamps, bars and all kinds of outdoor dancing fun. We’re increasing capacity, relocating the entry, adding bars and toilets!

Zach Moore Live from Breakfast of Champions 2012 by The Space Cowboys

Wow! What can we say? Breakfast of Champions was an overwhelming success and The Space Cowboys would like to thank each and every one of you for coming out to Mighty to celebrate the New Year with us!

So where do I start? How about the weather? 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky (in January??). For the second year in a row we had a permitted closure of Utah Street and the entire block from 15th to Alameda was packed with all of our favorite people. The Funktion One system provided by Funkworks for the outdoor sound stage took the block party to a whole new level and, as usual, all the DJs brought their “A game”. And while thousands of you passed through the gates over the course of the day, Mighty reported no incidents – quite a testament to the respectful, fun-loving crowd we had at BoC this year (way to go, Party People!).

We also managed to collect over 100 pounds of food for the San Francisco Food Bank with the cereal box drive that was held at the main gate (thank you to ShOOey for coordinating that effort).

I want to extend a special thanks to Space Cowboys Managing Partner, Andrea Lundquist. Breakfast of Champions was the culmination of 6 months of hard work and coordination on Andrea’s part that began last summer with our SF ISCOTT hearing. BoC would not be the celebration that it is today without Andrea’s expertise and the solid relationships she has forged with the City of San Francisco, Mighty and the many audio-visual, ticketing, security, on-site medical, food and beverage providers that are crucial to the success of the event.

Andrea is an event manager by trade and you’d be hard pressed to find a better one anywhere on the West Coast. The Space Cowboys are very lucky to have her. Andrea, thank you for everything you do for the Cowboys and our community!
