SnowFest - Friday March 4th -6th in North Lake Tahoe! Let it snow!

Those who know, know the Cowboys love the snow. So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
With 6 fresh feet of snow in Tahoe, we’re getting excited about some time on the slopes and our thoughts turn to SnowFest.
Once again we will be rockin’ it slopeside with the UNIMOG at Squaw Valley for the 2011 installment of the annual North Lake Tahoe Snow Festival.

Friday, March 4th.
11am-9pm
The UNIMOG kicks the party off at Squaw on the deck all afternoon,
with Space Cowboys and RIPE friends throwing down the proper selections to keep your turns groovin’.
The fun continues on into the evening with massive fireworks, lasers, the torch ski parade, the crowning of Miss North Lake and the Snowfest Opening Ceremonies at Olympic Plaza.

9pm-2am
The festivities continue with the Space Cowboy DJ’s at the official afterparty right there, upstairs in the Plaza Bar.

Saturday, March 5th
10:45am-6:00pm
The UNIMOG will again be rockin the Olympic Plaza deck all day at Squaw, keeping your turns even groovin’ again, .
there is nothing like hearing the Mog when you are on the other side of the hill, your own personal over-sized remote ipod
all with the Space Cowboy djs, guests Murphstar, Trav, Aaron Pope, Clarkie and more….

9pm-2am
Then after the lifts close, join us for a little Apres Skis – San Francisco Style!
Roll on down to Tahoe City and join us at the Lakeside. With a solid sound system, lighting, and video, it’s Tahoe City’s only proper venue.
With a second area out under the heat lamps on the deck, this year there will be additional bars to keep you hydrated.
Starting at 9pm in two the Space Cowboy’s DJs and special guests throw down groovin’ breakbeat and hearth warming house music.
So get there early to avoid the line and get your maximum groove on.
with Kapt’n Kirk, Mancub, Shissla, shOOey, Deckard, j9, Bassben, and more.

9:00pm-2am, $10
The Lakeside is located at:
850 North Lake Blvd. Tahoe City, CA, 96145 (behind Safeway)

Post-Decompression - Global Cool(er) Nov. 13th

First off, big thanks to everyone who came out to SF Decompression on Sunday. It’s always a great day, and it was amazing to see so many smiling faces, it is why we do this after all. Decompression is always challenging to set-up and to strike. It requires a lot of work, time money and patience on our end, so next time you see your neighborhood Space Cowboy give them a big hug. We don’t get any financial support to do events like Decompression, so we rely on your support at events like GhostShip III: the Armada and the upcoming Global Cool(er) at Chabot Science Center on November 13th to keep on going.

The Global Cool(er) event on November 13th is the gala celebration for the new Bill Nye Climate Lab exhibit, and we’re thrilled to be playing the After Party. We’ll be bringing the Unimog out to show our love of Space and the earth too. 8ball, Brad Robinson, Mancub and Shissla will be throwing down the beats and there are plenty of amazing other things to do at the Chabot. We don’t really know why you would want to do anything but dance, but the exhibits will be open (without screaming kids), there will be movies shown in their enormous mega-dome theatre, and best of all, you can look through their amazing array of telescope on the observation deck. Last time we played there (for the first Bay Area Yuris Night) it was amazing, seeing the stars like that was an experience I won’t soon forget. See below:

GLOBAL COOL: An Afterparty for Do-Gooders

Doing good is sexy, especially when fueled by the Space Cowboy DJ’s and their UNIMOG , green celebrities, an exceptionally stocked bar, delectable eats and more. Join Bill Nye “the Science Guy” and a dazzling crowd of do-gooders for THE OFFICIAL GLOBAL COOL AFTER-PARTY celebrating Chabot Space & Science Center’s exhibit opening of Bill Nye’s Climate Lab. Saturday, November 13th, 2010, starting at 9 pm. Party for the planet to live music sets by the Space Cowboys and Mona Lisa Jazz Quartet. Experience the dual premieres of Bill Nye’s Climate Lab and 350.org’s 10/10/10 feature film. Get sexy and do good, all under the auspices of cooling our favorite planet (Earth). Ticket proceeds support our work in serving over 167,000+ schoolchildren, teachers and visitors, combined. Tickets are $40/person (cocktail included) or engage your philanthropic side and purchase a $100 VIP ticket (w/ open bar) for you and your date. Learn more and buy tickets directly at globalcooler.eventbrite.com

Founded in 1883, Chabot inspires and educates students of all ages about our Planet Earth and the Universe. Set amid the beautiful forests of the Oakland hills, Chabot is home to the largest public telescope facility in the country. We also offer groundbreaking larger-than-life shows, interactive exhibits, innovative programming, and serve over 167,000+ schoolchildren, teachers, and visitors combined. Learn more about the positive impact we make locally and around the world at: www.chabotspace.org

Include NightLife at the Academy on the 28th and that’s four Space Cowboy events in 4 weeks. We love fall, don’t you?

Decompression 2010 : This Sunday!

We here at the corral are eagerly looking forward to next week’s Decompression!
Its one of our favorite events each year, and those of you who have been before know that the Space Cowboys do it proper!

We’re teamed up with Distrikt this year, and couldn’t be happier about it. The killer line-up starts promptly at noon, with a sure to be amazing set by Zach Moore, who has been hiding for a few months, so I for one am curious to hear what magic he is going to pull out. Zach is followed by some other Cowboy allstars (namely Deckard, Tamo and ShOOey) and then we’re having a little Distrikt day party for a bit, complete with with all the dance floor shenanigans you’ve come to expect. Space Cowboy djs bring to into the night, but sadly the music ends at 10pm; so be sure to get there super early to avoid any lines, and get a full day in. Another reason to get there early, it’s supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny! Good Lord!

Oh and did I mention this will be the debut of Mog 3.0? Yup, our little baby just got major enhancements to its sound system, with new amps and custom 8×21” subs. So not only are we now in stereo but we’ve got over two times as much as much bass…
