Breakfast of Champions, 2010 - Same time, same good friends, new location: Kelly's Mission Rock! 2

Posted by 8Ball Tue, 27 Oct 2009 18:24:00 GMT

On Jan 1st, 2010, Breakfast of Champions will be at Kelly’s Mission Rock!

That’s right, after something like 10 years on Florida Street – first at Potrero Brewing Company, later at Whisper – we’re moving Breakfast of Champions to a new venue, and we need YOUR help getting the word out.

When you’re in the same place for as long as we were, people don’t expect you to ever leave, and by now we’re guessing there’s a significant portion of people who just magically arrive at BoC on automatic pilot. What we’re hoping is that word of this move will spread like a like the latest internet meme, and when 6am rolls around on Jan 1st, 2010, all our good friends are happy and safe at Kelly’s. We don’t want to hear about poor inebriated souls staring hopelessly at the boarded up windows and locked doors of the old Whisper location.

So here’s the sound bite that you can spread to your friends: BoC is at Kelly’s this year! Don’t go to Whisper, it’s closed!

In related news, we’re selling tickets in advance through Eventbrite this year. The ticket is the same price, plus a small service charge, but people who buy in advance will get to enter in the shorter, faster, pre-paid ticket line.

Good morning 2009 BoC people 6

Posted by 8Ball Fri, 02 Jan 2009 17:50:00 GMT

Thanks to everyone who came out for BoC yesterday. It was the biggest yet, and while bigger doesn’t always mean better, in this case it was the best yet. It’s always fantastic to kick off the year with all you happy, crazy, and sometimes cracked out people. So again, thanks for coming and I hope you’re all recovered or at least on your way.

Also thanks to all our guest DJs – Zach Moore, Trav, Deckard, shOOey,Murphstar, Ding Dong, Sol, Robb Green, Uncle Larry, Tamo, Mozaic, and Benchun.

Also a huge thanks to DJ Icon who jumped on the decks upstairs and played a great set, just when we were worried we were out of DJs to play up there.

XOXO to all, and of course, “Happy New Year!”

PS: Stay tuned for the DJ set recording, courtesy of Zach Moore & info on lost & maybe found (check with Whisper first).
