Post-Decompression - Global Cool(er) Nov. 13th
First off, big thanks to everyone who came out to SF Decompression on Sunday. It’s always a great day, and it was amazing to see so many smiling faces, it is why we do this after all. Decompression is always challenging to set-up and to strike. It requires a lot of work, time money and patience on our end, so next time you see your neighborhood Space Cowboy give them a big hug. We don’t get any financial support to do events like Decompression, so we rely on your support at events like GhostShip III: the Armada and the upcoming Global Cool(er) at Chabot Science Center on November 13th to keep on going.
The Global Cool(er) event on November 13th is the gala celebration for the new Bill Nye Climate Lab exhibit, and we’re thrilled to be playing the After Party. We’ll be bringing the Unimog out to show our love of Space and the earth too. 8ball, Brad Robinson, Mancub and Shissla will be throwing down the beats and there are plenty of amazing other things to do at the Chabot. We don’t really know why you would want to do anything but dance, but the exhibits will be open (without screaming kids), there will be movies shown in their enormous mega-dome theatre, and best of all, you can look through their amazing array of telescope on the observation deck. Last time we played there (for the first Bay Area Yuris Night) it was amazing, seeing the stars like that was an experience I won’t soon forget. See below:

Decompression 2010 : This Sunday! 1
We here at the corral are eagerly looking forward to next week’s Decompression!
Its one of our favorite events each year, and those of you who have been before know that the Space Cowboys do it proper!
We’re teamed up with Distrikt this year, and couldn’t be happier about it. The killer line-up starts promptly at noon, with a sure to be amazing set by Zach Moore, who has been hiding for a few months, so I for one am curious to hear what magic he is going to pull out. Zach is followed by some other Cowboy allstars (namely Deckard, Tamo and ShOOey) and then we’re having a little Distrikt day party for a bit, complete with with all the dance floor shenanigans you’ve come to expect. Space Cowboy djs bring to into the night, but sadly the music ends at 10pm; so be sure to get there super early to avoid any lines, and get a full day in. Another reason to get there early, it’s supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny! Good Lord!
Oh and did I mention this will be the debut of Mog 3.0? Yup, our little baby just got major enhancements to its sound system, with new amps and custom 8×21” subs. So not only are we now in stereo but we’ve got over two times as much as much bass…

Ahhh, defrost! SnowFest rocked!
Big thanks to all of you who came out to SnowFest! It was perhaps the best yet. The Mog sounded (and looked) great and so did all of our DJs! Oh, you looked great too! Did I look great? Probably more like exhausted, cause I was, having just too much fun. I think the only time I sat down was on a chairlift. It was great riding with you all and seeing so many smiling faces. It even snowed on our parade, and it only made it better! The only negative experience I had was being forced to pull the plug on Saturday afternoon (....bitches), but y’all quickly resumed the mayhem Saturday night. Mad props all around. Friday night was the biggest (and perhaps craziest) night the Plaza Bar had ever seen (more on that some other time) no small part due to Rrrus, Brad Robinson and Tamo (w/ help from Viajay). Outside at the Lakeside was equally ridiculous (w/ djs J9, Bassben, Rrrus and Brad), especially when you factor in the temperature. The dance-floor inside just didn’t quit either (w/ Aaron Jae, ShOOey, Mancub Shissla and Kapt’n Kirk on the ones and twos).
Thanks to all of our RIPE friends, both non-djs and djs alike who gave a hand one way or another throughout the course of the weekend.
Most importantly, I want to give a special shout out to all the non-DJ Space Cowboys, who rarely get any love, but really deserve a big chunk of the credit. Next time you see them, tell them how much you loved their set, err I mean contribution, and let them know you realize it just couldn’t happen without them. They are the true rock-stars.
I’ve got to go get a massage now, but we’ll see y’all soon!
