Thank you Black Rock City!

The Space Cowboys want to thank everyone who made Burning Man 2011 such an amazing experience. First off, thanks to everyone who has sent us notes and facebook comments expressing appreciation for our efforts. Y’all are the reason we do what we do.

Second, thanks to everyone who came out to our daytime Hootenanny on Wednesday, especially JonH of Fort Knox Five and Ali B of Air Recordings for music that was damn near perfect. And thanks to everyone who came out to the Black Rock Hoe Down including our special musical guests Elite Force, Peo de Pitte and Plaza de Funk.

Of course we’re more than stoked to have such a great array of guests (including all of our friends from SF) play with us throughout the week, and big thanks to our own djs for throwin’ it down all week long. Big ups to Distrikt for being such good sports, and enduring their spelling lesson with a grin, and being our good playa buddies. And props to the Flaming Lotus Girls, for whom we provided infrastructural support and got to hang out with all week long. Tympani Lambada was amazing and we’re glad we could do what we could to help.

We’re dusting off our gear, but we don’t have time to rest on our laurels… Ghost Ship 2011 is just around the corner. The fourth installment of our Halloween fest on Treasure Island will be on October 29th and tickets will go on sale shortly. Remember, tickets sold out last year (did we start another trend?), so watch this space for more info….

Enjoy the rest of the summer, we’ll see you soon! Hee haw!

Burning Man 2011 !

For the past 15 years the Space Cowboys have been shaking your business on the playa. And this year will be no different. Sure we’re making some changes, like throwing a big daytime event at our Ranch & Saloon (4:45 & Esplanade) on Wednesday; and the UNIMOG has been upgraded yet again, now with 8 21” subs, additional lighting effects, and a completely new electrical system. But other things will be the same, like love from Martha and some of the best tunes to be found in the dust.

So here it is, our tentative playa itinerary… (but this is BM so don’t hold us to it)

with Space Cowboy djs: Shissla, Tamo, Deckard, Zach Moore, Pickles, Erik Hz, Spektrum and very special guests

> Sunday night: grand opening at the greeters station / gate 10pm-3am?

> Monday night: at Hudzo’s Charon 10pm-4am? with guests Ding Dong & Joe Joe (Brass Tax) and Lee Coombs

> Tuesday: tbd

> Wednesday afternoon: SC hootananny at the SpaceCowboys’ Saloon (4:45 & Esplanade) high noon – sunset with special guests Ali B. (Air, UK) and John H. (Fort Knox)

> Thursday dawn: Samurai Sunrise (outer playa) dawn-10am with guest MoPo (Janky Barge)

> Thursday afternoon: Lingerie Party – Camp Chinchilla 3pm – sunset with guest Andreas (Humbolt)

> Thursday night: tbd

> Friday night: The 14th Annual Space Cowboys Black Rock Hoe Down (1:11 & outer playa) 10pm till sunrise with special guests Elite Force, Plaza de Funk & Peo de Pitte (UK)

> Saturday night: at the Flaming Lotus Girls’ Tympani Lambada 10pm – 5am? with guests Kramer (Distrikt), Derek Hena & Gravity (Pink Mammoth) and (Disorient)

> Sunday: Black Sabbath Pancakes (location & time tbd.)

So if you’re going to be getting dusty next week, swing by 4:45 and Esplanade and say howdy!

- The Space Cowboys.
