Here comes my first recorded mix of 2009, completed just before my birthday. Originally I was trying to crank out new mixes on a monthly basis, but that was before I started playing with loops, samples, effects, and such—all stuff that I tweaked and tinkered with for weeks for this latest mix. Hopefully the turn around time for making this sort of loop heavy mix will go down, but until then listen up to DW7.

The label that put Breakbeats on the map and defined the breaks scene is celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary this year. The anniversary tour comes to San Francisco on March 21st. Finger Lickin’ has dominated the dance music scene since their first release back in 1999. Their signature sound of funk, hip-hop, house, electro ‘n’ breaks has consistently won the praise of punters and industry experts alike. Just last month they won Best Breaks Label from Breakspoll for the 8th year in a row!! In addition to the label recognition, Finger Lickin’ artists like The Plump DJs, Soul of Man, Krafty Kuts, A-Skillz, The Drumattic Twins, and Slyde have all received accolades as pioneers and leaders in the scene.
The Finger Lickin’ 10 Year Anniversary party is hosted by SEISMIC and the Space Cowboys. These two crews have worked endlessly to provide San Francisco with some of the best parties, brightest talents and fresh sounds from across the pond. The Birthday Bash will be going down at the recently renovated 103 Harriet from 10:00 PM – 4:00 AM.
The All Star Line up includes Finger Lickin’ friends and heavy hitters Krafty Kuts, Soul of Man and Slyde along with local favorites: Murphstar (SEISMIC), Brad Robinson (Space Cowboys), Trav (SEISMIC), 8Ball (Space Cowboys), MoPo (motionpotion.com) and ShOOey (Space Cowboys).
We have never had a night with all three of these Finger Lickin’ Powerhouses on the same stage in San Francisco. This One Is Going To Be Huge!
