Live from Ghost Ship, Episode 1: rrrus
We’re going to make as many of the Ghost Ship DJ mixes live as we can, starting with this one from Space Cowboy DJ rrrus, who played the closing set in the Desert Island room. He says…
Playing to close is one of my favorite times to play. It gives me a lot of freedom to take a set almost anywhere and send the party people home with my tracks echoing in their ears. Coming out of Shissla, I tried to match his breaks, even trying to give the floor one more kick into the sky before bringing the party back down to the ground. Opening with throbby bangin’ breaks, I then dropped it down a notch into electro and acid house before finally landing in a big chunky funk party. Special thanks to those of you who grooved live in the adventure. You rocked so hard with me.
And here’s what he played…
Hybrid – Higher than a Skyscraper
Stefan Anion – Inferior
LoFi Rebel – Ghetto Music
ILS – Angels
West London Deep – Tongue Tied
Chuck Love – Still Funky
Joel Harrison – Acid Boom
DJ Dan – Chop Shop
Alexkid – Rockin’ Down
Fort Knox Five – Spirit of `75
Neighbour – We Can Dance
Fort Knox Five – Dodge City Rockers
All Good Funk Alliance – NY Funk
All Good Funk Alliance – Superjam
Neighbour – Peaches and Herb
Torpedo Boys – Are You Talkin’ to Me?
Malente – Open Secret
Neighbour – Drunk on the Funk
Pimps of Joytime – Joytime Radio
Thank you for the Horrors! 1
Just wanted to send a quick thanks out to everyone who made it out for Ghostship: Shipwrecked on Treasure Island. Bridge closures and spooky weather couldn’t stop the party from sailing. We appreciate all the work and effort that everyone put into their costumes, their transportation and dancing moves. Fort Knox 5 & Kraak and Smaak have never seen such an event, and we certainly know that the Silent Disco was a huge hit.
LOST & FOUND: We have a few things left: ids, cameras, butterfly wings, top hats, fuzzy stuff. Please contact andrea at spacecowboys dot org to claim your items.
