Real quick, because I’ve got a dozen screaming hyper children in my office screaming so loud they’re making my ears bleed. Donor fatigue is a real phenomenon, and operations that function off charity are really, really, really fucked this year. So if you’ve got 3 pennies in your pocket and you only need 2 to rub together, then consider dropping the extra in a donation jar somewhere. Space Cowboys had a great year, we’ve never been in this for a profit, so in the hopes of setting an example I’ll tell you about a couple charities we’ve been able to give some love to (and this isn’t a specific endorsement of these causes, though they are good—there are plenty of other more noble causes out there, but these are a couple our group was feeling).

NIMBY Nimby, a place the Mog called home at one point, is raising money to move to their entire operations into a brand new, non-fire damaged and up to Oakland city code home! We donated to this cause, and urge you to do the same! If you don’t have the cash, you can donate your time and energy to help them physically move, too. Saturday, Dec 20th – White X-Mas at an Underground Location
Like the last couple “White X-Mas” parties, you’ll get in on the cheap if you bring a wrapped gift valued between $5 & $10 for our little gift exchange. We’ve had terrific fun with this, and I’d have to say that this event has got to be one of the most interactive events of all time. & to really top off this years show, Bam is also going to be celebrating his graduation from “Expression” which is the night before. Friday, Dec 12th & Saturday, Dec 13th – Los Comicos Super Hilariosos
Wrist Deep Productions puts on some of the most creative, hilarious, I’m-very-uncomfortable-with-what-was-just-said-on-stage-so-why-am-I-laughing? comedy extravaganzas Denver has ever seen.

There’s the Squire Lounge open mic night every Tuesday, voted Best Comedy Night in 2005 and 2007 by the Village Voice’s Westword Newspaper and Best Comedy Night by readers in 2006. Straight up.

For two nights only, Wrist Deep Productions is bringing their critically acclaimed Los Comicos Super Hilariosos, a monthly comedy smack-down featuring local Denver favorites and visiting comedians, to Piano Fights Studio250 at the Off Market Theater. This show combines stand-up, videos, and sketch comedy.

Pulling together the talents of Greg Baumhauer, Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy and Jim Hickox (all regular feature and headliner acts at the world famous Denver Comedy Works), Wrist Deep is the type of production company that believes comedy is best served with cheap beer and lots of friends.

According to astrophysics the universe is expanding, interest rates are declining and as of this week we are officially in a recession all of which would suggest things are actually slowing down, but yet things just seem to get faster and faster. I hadn’t even finished eating my Thanksgiving turkey (actually we hadn’t even gotten to dinner yet), when the conversation turned to New Years Day! So yes, every year holiday planning starts earlier and earlier, and that true for even the Space Cowboys and our Breakfast of Champions. The DJs are writing letters to Santa for their favourite new tracks and the rest of the crew is readying supplies, signing up for shifts, preparing the bacon, and trying to figure out how else to improve upon one of the best parties on earth. We have a couple of ideas, and we’re always open to hearing yours… so feel free to comment below (keep in mind that the unpredictable whether and access to Whisper prior to the event poses some challenges)

What a great way to start a new year…. seeing all you happy people smiling at 6am in the morning….
