Not Another Fracking Playa Schedule 1
Hello Friendly Person:
For the last couple days I’ve been getting schedules fired at me from DJs and theme camps so I’ll be sure not to miss single soul enriching moment on the playa.
It’s like Burning Man has become a multi-tracked convention, I’m not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing, but I have noticed that I’m stressed out. I’ve started an email folder just to hold onto all the reminders, schedules, lists, do not misses, that I’ve received. Next year we’ll all just load the whole playa schedule into Outlook and carry it around on PDAs. If in the future when BM finally stops changing year to year, Lonely Planet could get around to publishing the definitive tourist guide to BRC’s playa hot spots, corridors of bohemian charm, and hidden hoods “where the arty kids hang-out”.
Personally, I like the random shit. Maybe more than anything else. There are so many severely demented synchronous little scenes that just magically happen, like when a bunch of us were ridin’ dirty along the esplanade in Martha, and got pinned down under a barrage of fire from a pants cannon, and just before we could retreat someone pointed out that Adz had been abducted by some twisted game show, and before we could get him back on board the show host double-dog-dared him to publicly smear a handful of wasabi on his junk, which he did right before he started crying like a little girl. Only at Burning Man, man. There’s definitely value in the planned happenings, but never in a million years would anyone plan to put wasabi on their junk. Not planning is when the magic happens. (Unless you’re a stoner, in which case you probably never leave camp, you lazy buttholes.)
So, with that off my chest, I’ll now proceed to provide you, Friendly Person, with a list of Space Cowboy events and happenings that you will only ignore at the risk of your everlasting salvation, happiness, and enlightenment. Forget God, forget prayer, forget meditation—this is your one and only chance to get to heaven by attending all these events. Some of these events might overlap or be at the same time. That’s not my problem. If you can’t figure out how to be in two places at the same time perhaps you’re not worthy of salvation anyway.

Playing on the Mog on the playa 1
Unlike a lot of sound system camps, we don’t really have lineups figured out before we head for the playa (aside from the Hoe Down, of course).
The Mog is a roaming system, and we like to create impromptu happenings, which leads to ad hoc scheduling; sometimes setting up DJs on the Mog and sometimes just plugging the Mog into some other camp’s sound system to support their DJs.
We have a lot of friends, family and favorites we’d like to get on the decks at some point, but given our transitory and somewhat nomadic nature, committing to a specific time slot is difficult. If you’re interested in playing on the Mog, you should definitely contact us, send a mix to your favorite Space Cowboy point-of-contact, but please don’t be offended if you get a less than committal response. The best bet for playing on the Mog is to be there when a DJ steps off and another one doesn’t step on.
We’ll post some of our more definite plans soon.
