Some folks may remember Bikini Wax a monthly I used to do with Baby Ryan (from Gun Club and the Spindig Happy Hour) at the old Sublounge. “Two Rooms of Whoreable Music” was the tag line, and upstairs we spin mashups, hiphop, retro, electro and whatever the fuck else we felt like, but downstairs we’d often book live acts.
We were lucky enough to have SF’s Luxxury rocked their disco noire sound for us a few times before their headed down the road to electro-stardom. But despite paparazzi strobes and the bursting champagne, Luxxury still finds ways to keep a hand extended across the velvet rope to their fans, and one example is their new Mp3 music blog, The Workout, where they introduce new and new-to-you tracks that they think you might like.More links:
