¡Hola!
Many people I know have an Achilles heel for a particular type of alcohol. By Achilles heel, I mean, said alcohol could induce the gag reflex at the mere
whiff of the scent or even a glimpse of the bottle.
Mine personally is any brown liquor, typically whiskey, which incites my jaws of death. Many on this mailing list (and off) may have unwillingly become a bitee which, in certain cases, have required the jaws of life to extract me from your arm or shoulder. But perhaps yours is Goldschlager, after the time you scored your first fake ID freshman year in college, of which the bartender over-served you too many shots and now the glimmer of gold makes you flinch? Or maybe it's gin, after that company holiday party and your girlfriend had to hold up your hair while you prayed to the porcelain gods for an hour and the scent of a Christmas tree now makes your eyes water? Or might yours be tequila, from your high school trip to Cabo when you drank a few too many margaritas with tens of thousands of other horny drunk high school students and now the sight of a sombrero tickles your bile duct?
I sincerely hope tequila is not your weak spot... but if it is indeed your Achilles, then may I suggest a momentous occasion to embrace that love/hate relationship with tequila in a more grown up fashion at the Space Cowboys' Uno de Mayo party this Saturday at Kelly's Mission Rock. There's nothing like riding a mechanical bull with a fancy mustache after doing a couple of shots of tequila to "bring back" (or up) those old memories. Pre-sale tickets have been flying like tortillas at Bay to Breakers, and you have until Friday to get them at $15 before ticket prices go up the day of the event. Get 'em at http://uno-de-mayo.eventbrite.com
Hasta Pronto!

5/7 Friday - Port-A-Party Fundy @ Shine
Clarkie says... OK Port-A-Party, Bay To Breakers and Deep End Revelers,
In a few short weeks my favorite event of the year - Bay to Breakers - will be here. We have now been running our little music float on wheels, the heralded Port-A-Party for 9 years. Every year, we make some improvements, and this year, we are really going BIG. Much bigger sound, more room for drinks (non alcoholic mixers of course), more room for the DJ, and more surface area for PINK.
With more of everything, comes more cost, so we are actually having a fundraiser for our little lady this year at our favorite watering hole, Shine. Every year we ask for a suggested donation of $20. This year, there is a $250 entry fee - which is new - they are still cracking down on alcohol and even trying to curtail our favorite party spot - but don't worry - we are going to take that bridge - somehow, some way.
Please come down to the party to support - give what you can let's get ready to rock.
