Hello Friendly Person:

OK, I ain't gonna lie to you anymore Friendly Person, it's time to talk
to y'all like a big kid. I ain't gonna sugar coat it for you no mo' --
it's time to open the kimono, to show you how the sausage gets made.
The truth is DJing and dancing at all the crazy all-night disco parties
with my Space Cowboy amigos isn't always as easy as you might think. In
fact, sometimes having fun is hard ass labor. All that lookin' good,
dancing like ninja robot monkey elves, trying to match shots with
Pootie -- all that is hard work. That's why after this year's Halloween
party at Temple I said to myself, "8ball, you've been hopping around
more than a one-legged man in an ass-kickin' contest. 8ball, it's time
to slow down a bit, else you're gonna fall down. 8ball, it's time for a
BREAK." So, I took myself a break, and it was amazing what happened! I
did laundry, the house got straightened up, I started making the bed in
the mornings (as opposed to laying in it all day), I went for walks, I
went to museums, I read books, I skipped to work, and I even started
hanging out with my wife a little. Who woulda thought?!

But now I'm feeling like it's time to take a break from the break. And
just in time too, because we're less than a week away from Breakfast of
Champions! Forget the fact that it's the 8th or maybe even 9th (do we
count the year at Pier 23?), and forget the fact that this year might
be the last (if 535 Florida isn't around next year) -- the best reason
for me to go to Breakfast of Champions is that, whether my friends go
to the Seismic New Year's Eve Party with Krafty Kuts or stay at home
and take it easy like me, I know I can still hang out with 99% of my
friends the next day at Whisper, and so can YOU! Who could I take a
break from that!?

XO,

8ball at Space Cowboys dot Org
