Hello Friendly Person:
Two parties to talk about for this weekend--one in SF and the other in BRC--but first the preamble:
Bleeding, sweating and crying time's done, and the Mog 2.0 packed, stacked and roaming the BRC. The new visual rigging will dazzle, the new speaker rig will shake your rump, and the face-splitting grins of the Cowboys will mean that the new configuration set up time is 5 minutes or less.
About the gap: That big space between the two top stacks. Yeah, we see it, too. We had some ideas of how to fill it (a blow up doll, a naked midget with a stripper pole, a huge disco ball, a pig on a spit), but still haven't come up with the right design. I was thinking maybe you could help? When you go to the Black Rock Hoe Down on Friday night, at Flaming Lotus Girls' Serpent Mother, check out the Snake-river Canyon gap on the Mog and then tell us what you think we should put there. Grab the closest Cowboy, email me, whatever -- if we end up using your idea we may not give you any credit, but maybe we can let you into our next party for free or something. (No promises, void where prohibited, not valid in Fresno.)
XO,
8ball at spacecowboys
### UPCOMING EVENTS ###
Fri, Sept 1st – BLACK ROCK HOE DOWN @ BRC
Look for all your favorite Space Cowboy DJs (except me and Mancub, who're part of the Orphan contingent--see below), the Mog 2.0, Cowboy Neal and the Space Cowboy Saloon, all out at Flaming Lotus Girls' Serpent Mother installation.
10PM – Sun-up
Sat, Sept 2nd – BLACK ROCK ORPHANS PARTY @ SHINE
So like I mentioned above, Mancub and yours truly, 8ball, aren't making the playa this year, and neither are the good folks, Tripp and Nate, from Shine. Rather than spending the night of the burn at home watching Law & Order, Shine is opening its doors to be the unofficial BRC Orphanage. Expect to see the place loaded with imagery from past Burns, and other BM memorabilia--but what will really make it a great consolation prize will be all you other orphans, so be sure to wear your playa-best!
SHINE - 1337 Mission St – 9PM 'til 2AM
$5 OR FREE with old BM stub, or playa costume, or "proof" that you're a real Burner.
