Hello Friendly Person:
While it may shock you to find out that promoting parties, DJing Burning Man fundraisers, and pontificating from this virtual soap box doesn't pay for my Cristal, iced-out grill or lapdances, the truth is, like many of the other spinners, twirlers and party stalkers out there, yours truly has a day job. And man, is it Corporate. Maybe not kahkis and button corporate, but I gots me a cube, an employee handbook, and every six months I write up my self-assessment slash performance review. I generally dread this task; even though it's permanently on the calendar it always seems to arrive without warning, while I'm in the middle of a thousand other 'real' projects, and since I never allocate time to work on it, the only way it gets done is on MY time. Boo! But just last round, as I was filling out the form with all the cool shit I did, I started thinking maybe there's a better application for this otherwise monotonous task. Maybe WE should ALL fill self-assements; not for work,
but for Partying (and for Burning Man, of course). So, here's your first ever homework assignment. Get together with your Party Supervisor (if you don't have one, try the End Up on a Sunday, or 6th Street any time); figure out what Partying Achivements you accomplished since the last review period. It's important to note how your achivements supported the overall goals of the larger Party Organization. And don't be afraid to blow your own horn; if you really did some ridiculous partying, you should be proud of it. Likewise, make an effort to identify your soft spots, or as we shall now call them, "Areas for Development." For example: Maybe you slept beforing going to Breakfast of Champions last year; that's fine, you just roll "Partying Until You Drop" into the list of Party Objectives for the next review period. Finally, have your Party Supervisor solicit feedback from your Partying Peers; they should be able to provide some positive feedback ("He looks good in fur", or,
"She can pee standing up"), as well as Areas for Development ("Tries to hug me when she's stanky and sweaty", or, "E's make him projectile vomit"). After your finished, make two copies and sign them; one is for you and one goes in your personell file.
XO,

PS: Thanks to everyone who came out to Afternoon Delight last Sunday. Wow.
