[SpaceCowboys-Announce] DJ vs DJ (aka Upcoming events for tonight, and beyond)

Hello Friendly Person:

The other day I was looking at a flyer for some party,
and it had a couple DJs listed as DJ Somebody "vs." DJ
Somebody-else. Now, I'm all for the tag teaming thing,
we do it at our Space Cowboy parties all the time.
Being a human jukebox can be hard work; having a buddy
on hand to drop the next track gives the haggard DJ a
much needed break (another tequila shot, key bump
under the decks, hide from creepy-sweaty dancer dude
who keeps trying to hug you over the decks). But I had
another idea, picture this: You're at a party, you're
stoked to see your two favorite breaks DJs,
Donkeypunch and PLURvert tag team. Donkeypunch opens
up with a couple tracks that get the crowd bouncing
like amped up chimps, but when it's PLURvert's turn,
instead of putting on a record he connects a wicked
right cross that shatters Donkeypunch's nose. Blood
sprays out over the decks, and spritzes the dancing
chimps, who get high on the scent like sharks in
chummed water, and the chimps bust out in a frenzy
dance moves. Glowsticks and poi materialize out on the
dance floor and everyone's either spinning something
or doing robot moves, while the DJs are on each other
like Godzilla vs. Mecha Godzilla. This, my friend, is
the DJ Deathmatch. It's like tagging, but with a
competitive component. I'm not saying it's for
everyone--those skinny DJs wouldn't last a season
(yeah, I'm about Brad Robinson), and something tells
me Sister parties would get a better turn out than
just about everyone else. But if you find this idea
inspiring and want to throw a DJ Deathmatch party,
just now that I'm down to play with Mancub anytime
(because I really think I could take that guy).

Saturday, June 3rd – 2006 ROCK PAPER SCISSORS
TOURNEMENT (Healdsburg, CA)

Once again, it's almost time for our fourth annual
Southwest Pro-Am Rock, Paper, Scissors Championship.
On June 3rd, 2006, players from both near and far will
descend on Roshambo Winery in hopes of scoring a slice
of the $1700 pie. Last year's tourney was earmarked by
Newsweek magazine as a "Pick of the Week" and became
the biggest in U.S. history. And as word circulates
about the insane fun to behold at our offbeat winery,
we expect an even larger turnout this year.

If you get eliminated early, you can always hang out
and dance to the Space Cowboy DJ or two running the
decks all day.

Roshambo Winery – 3000 West Side Rd., Healdsburg, CA
$20 Competitor, $10 Spectator
